Description
South Cerney Farmhouse, formerly known as Cross Farmhouse, is a farmhouse that likely dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of random coursed rubble stone with flush quoins and has a concrete tile roof. The building features a stone end stack on the left with a brick flue and a stepped cap, as well as a similar stack on the rear wing.
The farmhouse has a single front range that is two storeys high with an attic, and it includes a shallow rear wing that continues as a lower wing on the right side. There is also a small 19th-century lean-to on the left at the rear. The front facade has three windows, which are 3/2/3-light wood casements with splayed stone voussoirs. On the ground floor, there are two 3-light windows flanking a central four-panel door, which is topped by a gabled porch hood supported by struts. Additionally, there are two hipped dormers with paired casements.
