Description
No. 50 Rowes Hill is a building that was originally two cottages, now combined into one. It dates from the 18th century and was altered in the 19th century. The structure is made of rubble stone and features a half-hipped thatched roof with brick stacks. It has an 'L'-shaped plan and stands two stories tall with two windows, which are fitted with casements. There is a glazed 20th-century door with a gabled hood on the right side and a 2-light casement window to the left. On the first floor, there are two 19th-century 2-light casement windows and raised eaves. A single-storey wing projects to the front and has 20th-century casements beneath a thatched roof. The left side of the building has a lean-to extension. At the rear, there is a 20th-century glazed door and 2-light casement windows. The interior was not accessible during the survey in June 1985, but it has been altered in the 1980s.
