Description
Belline Cottage is a row of three cottages that have been combined into one house, dating from the 18th century and 19th century. The building is constructed of random rubble stone and features a half-hipped thatched roof with brick stacks. It is a single storey with an attic and has three windows.
The entrance is through a planked door that has a gabled canopy, accessed by three steps to the left. To the left of the door is a 1-light casement, followed by two 2-light casements and a blocked doorway with a 1-light casement. The right cottage is rendered and has a 2-light casement, a 20th-century casement in a blocked doorway, and another 1-light casement. The attic includes three eyebrow dormers, each with 2-light casements.
The right side of the building has an attached single storey thatched outhouse, while the left side features a 2-light casement in the attic and an attached lean-to extension with a tiled roof. The rear of the cottage has planked doors and 2-light casements, with a wing on the left that includes a 3-light casement with an attic. The interior was not accessible during the survey in June 1985, but it has been altered in the 20th century and includes chamfered beams.
