Description

Old Timbers is a detached house dating from the late 17th century and 18th century. It is constructed of random rubble stone and features a half-hipped thatched roof with brick stacks. The house has an 'L'-shaped plan and faces the road with its gable end. It is two stories tall and has four windows, all of which are casements.

The entrance is a planked door located to the right of center, which is sheltered by a gabled canopy. To the right of the door are two 2-light flush cyma-mullioned casements, while to the left there is one 2-light mullioned casement and two 2-light casements. There is a cellar to the left that has a 2-light recessed cyma-mullioned casement. On the first floor, there are four 2-light cyma-mullioned casements with eyebrow features, and it appears that the eaves were likely raised in the mid-18th century.

The left side of the house features a 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement on the ground floor and a 2-light mullioned casement on the first floor. The rear of the house has a blocked doorway and a 1-light casement, while a rear wing to the left includes a stone bull's-eye window on the ground floor and 2-light casements on the first floor. The gable of the wing has a planked door and a small ogee window. Inside, the house has chamfered beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered timber lintel.
