Description
Prospect House is a house dating from around 1830, constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and a low-pitched slate roof with coped gables and end stacks. It is two storeys high, with ashlar flush quoins and a moulded cornice to the parapet. The front facade has a three-window arrangement, featuring 16-pane sashes in flush surrounds. A six-panel door with a traceried overlight is set within a porch with thin pilasters, a cornice, and a parapet; the porch may be a later addition. Behind the main house is a parallel rear range, and an L-shaped coach-house and stable range. The property is prominently situated at the west end of the High Street. Deeds are reportedly dated back to around 1715.
