Description
The Avenue is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick, with some ashlar stonework, and features a 19th-century slate roof that has ashlar coped gables with kneelers. The house has a single rear gable and red brick stacks on the rear ridge. The eaves are moulded wood, and there is a first-floor band. The building has an L-plan layout with a projecting two-storey gabled porch. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, with the central bay being the porch. The porch has a pointed arched doorway, with a door that has pointed arched panels, a reveal, and a hood mould. The side walls of the porch feature single pointed arched glazing bar fixed lights. On either side of the porch are single glazing bar sash windows, with two similar sashes above. There is also a single pointed arched fixed light with a hood mould above the doorway.
