Description
The summerhouse or gazebo at Sibsey House is a structure dating from the 15th century and the 19th century, constructed from ashlar and red brick. It is a single-storey, single-bay building. The south side features a pointed arched doorway with a plank door, topped by a 19th-century hood mould that has decorative label stops. To the right of the doorway, and set higher, is a 15th-century gargoyle. The east wall contains a single 15th-century arched window with three cusped lights and panel tracery, while the west wall has an inverted window with cusped reticulated tracery. The building was likely constructed using materials salvaged from the parish church during its restorations in 1855. It is currently overgrown with ivy.
