Description

This is a milestone located northwest of the bridge by the Rowde Petrol Filling Station. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of cast iron. The milestone has a short prism-shaped post with a slanting top. The front is inscribed with the distances to Chippenham, which is 8 miles away, and Calne, which is not specified.
