Description

The Willis Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard at the angle of the tower and the north aisle of the Church of St Matthew. This late 18th-century monument features two plaques on each side, a fluted center, and angle piers adorned with rosettes. It has a moulded base and cornice, with a fluted frieze that projects forward over the plaques. The tomb bears an inscription dedicated to James Willis.
