Description
No.14 North Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of rendered limestone rubble with a brick gable stack and a double Roman tile roof. The house follows a single-depth plan and has two storeys and an attic. Originally it had a single window facing the street, but now features a timber lintel over the right-hand ground-floor doorway, which contains a late 20th century casement window. The original doorway has a four-panel door. An early 20th century casement window is on the first floor, and there is a blocked window above the doorway. A stone in the left-hand return is inscribed “WB 1782.” The interior has been altered, though retains a heavy inserted timber inscribed "1758 BH" and a two-bay roof with tenoned purlins.
