Description
No. 6 Curzon Street is a house dated 1617 that was refronted in the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with a rendered ashlar front, featuring brick gable stacks and a slate roof, with stone slates on the rear. The building has a double-depth plan that includes two rear ranges and is designed in an early Georgian style. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a symmetrical front with a five-window range. The façade includes a deep timber modillion cornice gutter, a recessed doorway with a bolection-moulded architrave and a door with six raised panels, topped by a swan's neck pediment with console brackets that are broken off. The front features recessed 6/6-pane sash windows in exposed frames, while the rear east range has flush 6/6-pane sash windows in exposed frames. The date is inset in brick on the east gable. The interior has not been inspected.
