Description
Milton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, with window features added around 1800. It is constructed of dressed limestone and has a tiled roof with coped verges and brick stacks at the gable ends. The building is designed in a T-plan and is two storeys high with five windows across the front. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with a transom light that includes gothic glazing bars, set within a gabled stone porch. On either side of the door are two 2-light casements, also with gothic glazing bars. The first floor has five 2-light casements with gothic glazing bars. There are two gabled dormers with 20th-century casements, and the left side of the building has a 20th-century single-light casement in the attic.
At the rear of the main range, there is a glazed door and several 2-light casements, one of which has gothic glazing bars on the first floor. To the right of the wing, there is a 20th-century casement, while to the left, there is a blocked brick arch on the ground floor, likely linked to a former bread oven. The wing also features a 19th-century brick lean-to extension on the east side, and an attached outhouse with a planked door and a casement with gothic glazing bars. The first floor of the outhouse has similar casements.
Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams with stepped stops, a large open fireplace at the east end with a chamfered lintel on renewed jambs, bread ovens, and doors that are either four-panelled or planked, along with window shutters.
