Description
The Old Bell Cottage is a detached cottage that was originally an inn, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of English bond brick and features a thatched roof with coped verges and brick stacks at the gable ends. The building is two stories tall and has three windows across its front.
The entrance is a four-panelled door located to the left of the center, with a 3-light leaded casement window to the left and a 2-light wooden casement window to the right. On the first floor, there are two 2-light leaded casements and one 3-light leaded casement.
At the rear, there is a gabled porch with another four-panelled door. To the left of the porch, there are three windows: a 2-light casement and a single-light casement, while to the right, there is a 6-pane fixed window and a 2-light casement. The first floor at the rear has one 3-light leaded casement and two 2-light leaded casements, along with a 20th-century attic dormer. The left side of the building features a single-light casement in the attic. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in August 1986.
