Description

FORE STREET 1. 5411 (South East Side) Rear extension of No 7, together with part of rear of No 8 ST 8558 5/240 II

  1. Excellent early C18 'L' plan rear portion of No 7 Fore Street (qv), reached by flagged through passage containing 2 blocked entrances with wide surrounds. Rendered, 2 storeys and attic (in south gable end). Stone plinth, rustic quoins, moulded string over ground floor, cove cornice to eaves and wide raised surrounds with beaded inner edges to openings, including rear through passage entrance. East side has 2 blocked cross windows to 1st floor with beaded edges to mullions and transoms, a ground floor window with modern glazing and another with a glazing bar sash. Half hipped end gable with projecting stone at base and weatherboarding above it to verge. Similar elevation to rest with 2 glazing bar sash windows in wide stone surrounds with beaded inner edges. Blocked doorway to left with modern doorway to left again. Large shaped stone panel where garden wall meets gable wall.
