Description

The rear extension of No 7 Fore Street, along with part of the rear of No 8, is an excellent example of an early 18th-century 'L' plan structure. It is accessed via a flagged passage that features two blocked entrances with wide surrounds. The building is rendered and consists of two storeys plus an attic in the south gable end. It has a stone plinth, rustic quoins, a moulded string course over the ground floor, a cove cornice at the eaves, and wide raised surrounds with beaded inner edges around the openings, including the entrance to the rear passage.

On the east side, there are two blocked cross windows on the first floor, which have beaded edges on the mullions and transoms. The ground floor features one window with modern glazing and another with a glazing bar sash. The half hipped end gable has a projecting stone at the base and weatherboarding above it at the verge. The elevation is similar on the rest of the building, showcasing two glazing bar sash windows in wide stone surrounds with beaded inner edges. There is a blocked doorway to the left, alongside a modern doorway further left. Additionally, there is a large shaped stone panel where the garden wall meets the gable wall.
