Description
The building at the rear of No 43 Fore Street is an early 18th century or late 17th century structure. It is positioned at right angles to the rear extension of No 43, with its gable end facing the courtyard between Nos 42 and 43. The building has two storeys and an attic. The south gable end is made of stone and features altered openings. The east and west fronts are constructed of brick and show traces of continuous drip moulds at both the ground and first floors. There is a large dormer on the west side. Notably, the east side has blocked windows of interest: a three-light window on the left and a two-light window on the right, both with raised flat stone surrounds that have beaded inner edges and mullions. The roof is covered with pantiles.
