Description

No. 42 on Fore Street is an early 19th-century, three-storey building constructed of painted brick. It features a moulded stone cornice and a coping stone on the parapet. Each floor has one window, which consists of a pair of glazing bar sashes with wooden surrounds and segmental over arches. There is a small mid-19th-century shop front that is connected to a pilastered doorcase, with the house entrance located to the right. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 37 to 44 consecutively, No. 38A, and Nos. 46 to 48 consecutively, along with No. 13 Church Walk. No. 43 is noted for its local interest.
