Description

This is a mid-19th century building on Fore Street, cut short by the adjacent property at number 5. It is three storeys high and has an ashlar-fronted facade. The building is distinguished by a left-hand corner pier, a cill band at the second-floor level, and an eaves band, all supporting a double Roman pantile roof. The facade originally had a range of windows, featuring a late-glazed sash window on the second floor and a modern casement window on the first floor. A 20th-century, shallow, angled bay shop front with a central entrance occupies the ground floor. Numbers 1 to 9, Fore Street, are designated as a group.
