Description
No. 43 Cliff Road is a terraced house that was originally three cottages, dating from the 17th century with 19th-century alterations. The building features squared and coursed dressed stone, some render, coursed rubble, stone dressings, and wooden lintels. It has a gabled stone slate roof with two stone stacks. The east front is two stories high with three windows. The windows on the ground floor are 16-pane sashes set in blocked surrounds, while the upper floor has simple reveals with wooden lintels. There is a 20th-century casement window above two-leaf garage gates to the right, and a further range of cottages with casement windows angled to the left. To the left of the garage, there is a doorway with a flat hood and a six-panel door. The original 17th-century doorway between the ground floor windows has been blocked.
