Description

No. 9, Cricklade Street is a detached house, originally two cottages, dating from the early to mid 17th century. The house is built of rubble stone with flush quoins, and has a stone slate roof. A brick stack is located on the gable facing the street, and there is a stone ridge stack about two-thirds of the way along the roof, with an offset and a brick flue. The house is one room deep, and two storeys high. It has three windows on the front, each with two or three lights and stone mullions. The hoodmould over the left-hand window has been renewed. A 20th-century projecting gabled porch is situated between the two right-hand windows, and incorporates a two-light, three-light, and four-light stone mullion. A small, blocked window with a dripmould is visible on the street gable. The rear elevation also features two and three-light stone mullion windows. The house likely has a lobby entry plan, though the interior is not accessible.
