Description

Southcott Cottage is a small, detached cottage dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with dressed quoins, and has a stone slate roof with a renewed stone stack on the right-hand end. The cottage is a single range, two storeys and an attic, with a two-storey lean-to addition to the left. The main part of the cottage features one window; a two-light stone mullion with a square hoodmould on the first floor, and a three-light window on the ground floor, alongside a small single-light window to the right, revealing a surviving wooden newel stair. A small gabled dormer has a twin wooden casement. The lean-to section has a small twin wooden casement on the first floor and a fully glazed 20th-century door with a square hoodmould on the ground floor.
