Description

Acre Cottage and Peach Cottage, formerly one large cottage, were converted into two separate homes. They likely date from the late 16th century or early 17th century. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble stone with flush quoins and feature a stone slate roof. There is a brick end stack on the right and an external stone stack on the left with a brick flue.

The main range is a single storey with an attic, accompanied by a slightly smaller later wing on the right and a small 20th-century extension on the left, which is not of special interest. The front has two steep gables, each with a small stone light at the top, complete with a drip mould. Below, there are 2-light stone windows that originally had central mullions but have since been replaced with 20th-century insertions. The ground floor features two 3-light windows, also without mullions, with relieving arches above them.

There is a central porch with a raking roof and a stone wall on the left side only, leading to a door with six flush panels that opens into Acre Cottage. The small wing to the right has one small gable with a single 20th-century light and two 20th-century two-light windows on the ground floor. The entrance to Peach Cottage is located in the 20th-century extension.
