Description
Home Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse situated on Cricklade Street, Poulton. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins, and has a stone slate roof on the outer pitches and concrete tiles on the inner pitches. The front range has stone end stacks with an offset and moulded cornice, while the right-hand rear range has a stone end stack. The left-hand wing is a smaller double range, built of rubble stone, with brick to the left and brick end stacks to both ranges.
The main range has two windows on each floor, featuring triple sash windows with wood mullions set within flush quoin surrounds and large flush stone lintels. There are two small hipped dormers with paired wooden casements in the roof. The rear facade includes two hipped porch canopies, each supported by two square, tapering stone columns and with a 20th-century door. The left-hand side wing has paired 6-pane wooden casements with timber lintels on both floors, and a 20th-century stone projecting porch on the left-hand return. The farmhouse forms part of a well-preserved group of buildings, including a barn and stable block.
