Description

This is a two-storey terraced cottage dated 1695, as indicated by the initials D/T/M/1695 carved on two stones above the upper windows. It has undergone alterations in the 20th century. The walls are of coursed rubble, rendered and limewashed, with stone dressings, some wooden lintels, and a gabled roof covered in stone slates. A stone stack is located at the west end, and a taller brick stack is at the east end. The cottage is set at a right angle to the road. The south front has three windows. The ground floor windows are 20th-century casements. The upper outer bays have two-light, chamfered mullions with two-pane casements; the central upper window has lost its mullion. A central, gabled, glazed porch with a 20th-century door has been added.
