Description

4 and 6 Cliff Road are two terraced cottages dating from the late 17th century. They are built of coursed rubble with wooden lintels and feature a stone slate roof supported by two brick stacks. The cottages are single-storey with an attic and have three gables of unequal height. All windows are 2-pane casements from the 19th century, and there is a gabled dormer on No 4. No 6 has part glazed doors and a stone slate porch situated between the gables. This pair of cottages is noted for being the least altered example of 17th-century vernacular architecture in the back street and forms a group with Nos 1 and 3 opposite.
