Description
Brook Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage orné located on Gasper Street in Stourton-with-Gasper. It is built of painted Flemish bond brick and features a half-hipped thatched roof with brick stacks in the rear valley. The cottage is single-storey with an attic and has two bays. The entrance is positioned at a right angle to the road on the left return, featuring a 20th-century door with six fielded panels to the right and a half-glazed door to the left.
On the first floor, there is a semi-circular headed leaded casement window with Y glazing bars. The front of the cottage facing the road has a central 12-pane sash window with a fanlight above, flanked by recessed semi-circular headed niches on either side. The right return includes two semi-circular headed leaded casements with Y glazing bars on the ground floor and one on the first floor to the left. At the rear, there is a lean-to with a slate roof and casements, along with two semi-circular headed leaded casements on the first floor. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in October 1986.
