Outbuildings To The North Of Home Farmhouse

The outbuildings to the north of Home Farmhouse are a long range that includes stables with haylofts above, a central barn, and loose boxes arranged at right angles to the road. The stables and barn date from the 17th century, while the loose boxes were added in the early 20th century. The buildings are constructed from coursed rubble with stone dressings, featuring wooden lintels, plank doors and gates, and gabled stone slate roofs. The stables and hayloft have an end gable and two side gables, with casement windows and steps leading up to the loft, which retains its original collar beam roof. The barn includes a south midstrey with weatherboarding on the gable and two-leaf plank gates, as well as a further gabled projection on the north front. The roof structure of the barn is supported by butt-purlins and collar beams, with some timbers having been renewed. The loose boxes have two-leaf plank gates.
