Two Unidentified Monuments In Churchyard About 6 Metres North East Of North East Angle Of Church Of St Mary

There are two chest tombs located in the churchyard about 6 meters northeast of the northeast corner of the Church of St Mary. These tombs date from the mid-18th century and are made of ashlar.

The first tomb, which is the southernmost, features two shield plaques on each side, with a fielded center and angle piers. It has a moulded base and cornice, along with a pulvinated frieze that is broken forward over the piers. The plaque on the west end is shaped like a shield, while the east end plaque is lozenge-shaped.

The second tomb also has two shield plaques on each side, but it includes foliate scroll decoration on the angle piers and a fielded center pier adorned with a rosette. It similarly has a moulded base and cornice, with a pulvinated frieze that is broken forward over the piers. The west end features a cartouche.
