Description

The Vicarage is a house built in 1772, constructed of red brick with some black headers and topped with a Bridgwater tile roof. It features an east end stack and a ridge stack at the original west end. The original two-storey structure has a three-window range, a rubble stone plinth, flush quoins, a brick band, and large paired casement windows. The central entrance has a six-panel door with a timber hood supported by brackets. The lower openings have gauged brick heads, and decorative strips of black headers are found between the upper windows. The brickwork is bonded with three stretcher courses to one header. To the right, there is a matching two-storey and basement addition that has a band and ashlar quoins, with one 20th-century paired casement window. The left end wall is made of rubble stone. The interior has not been inspected. It is noted that this building was constructed to serve as the Vicarage, replacing No 3 (Church House).
