Description
Laggus Farmhouse and Cottage is a farmhouse with an attached cottage, dating from the 17th century, with the cottage possibly added in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and has a single stone-slate roof with coped gables, end stacks, and a ridge stack. The building has two storeys and an attic.
The north front of the farmhouse features four windows and a large central gabled eaves dormer, which has 17th-century barge boards and a finial. The dormer has a renewed triple casement, and there is plaster below it. The main floors have moulded timber lintels and original ovolo-moulded timber-mullion windows, with three, two, one, and three-light windows surviving on the first floor. Below, there are three-light, two-light, and three-light 20th-century casements, along with an original oak door in a moulded oak frame to the right of centre.
The cottage to the left has a two-window range of 19th-century casement pairs. The south entrance front has been entirely re-windowed with casements, but one original moulded lintel is still visible. The farmhouse has a three-window range with an original oak plank door to the right in a lean-to porch, while the cottage also has a three-window range of casements.
