Description

The Doric Temple is a garden seat built around 1800. It features a Greek Doric temple front with four columns, an entablature, and a pediment, all in a prostyle arrangement. The interior is lined with ashlar, while the rear wall is made of brick. This structure has become an important part of the Bowood landscape, having been relocated to the lakeside in 1864 from the pleasure grounds near the house.
