Description
Broadwey Cottage is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, which has been altered in the late 18th century. It is constructed of rubble with a concrete tile roof. The building features a small gabled range that is continuous with the front of the adjoining farmhouse, but it has much lower ceiling heights. The front wall is positioned directly next to the pavement, resulting in ground-floor window sills being at pavement level. The cottage is two storeys high and includes a large flat-roofed 20th-century dormer on the right side.
On the left, there is a small 18th-century two-light wood casement window with original leading at eaves level, along with a later 20th-century casement window below it. To the right, a large tripartite sash window with 4:12:4 panes is present, while there is a blocked opening with a wood lintel to the left. The gable return on the left has a late 20th-century casement window at each level, set in original openings with segmental heads. The rear of the cottage features 20th-century dormers, casements, and a door, along with a small hipped return wing. The interior likely retains original fabric.
