Description
No. 12 Church Street dates from the mid-19th century. It is a two-storey building with an ashlar front and two windows. The roof is slate, covered with coped verges and a shallow pitch. The upper floor has sash windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor windows appear to be later replacements. A plain doorway is situated on the left side.
A more original section of the building exists to the rear, constructed of rendered rubble with a stone window surround featuring a beaded inner edge. This rear section includes a large three-light casement window within a hipped gabled three-storey section.
The building forms a group of buildings with Nos. 2-7 and 9-12 Church Street, alongside the Emmanuel Baptist Church, its gate, and gate piers.
