Description

The building at 9 Union Street dates from around 1840. It is a three-storey structure originally built with painted brickwork, now featuring a modern shop front. The roof is of slate, with a low pitch and an eaves cornice. The building has two windows. To the left is a later 19th-century canted bay window with three lights, sash windows, and later-added glazing bars, topped by a moulded cornice over the first floor. Other windows are recessed and have sash windows with later glazing bars. They are set within rendered architrave surrounds and have block sills, with consoles to the window on the second floor. Numbers 1 to 13 (consecutively numbered) and 15 form a visual grouping.
