Description

This is a 17th-century building, altered subsequently. The property is timber-framed with a gabled break to the right. It is two storeys high and rendered. There is one late-glazed sash window to the left of the gable and one to the gable itself, with a space above a through passage on the right. The right-hand gable is partly timber-framed, and features a scalloped bargeboard to the front gable and a bracketed gutter box to the left. A brick chimney is located to the left. The roof is covered with double-Roman tile, with sections of rubble and brick. The roof has been altered, potentially including modern bracing from the early 20th century, and incorporates a large stone chimney stack within the roof space. Numbers 2 to 7 and 9 to 12 Church Street form a group with the Emmanuel Baptist Church, its gate, and gate piers.
