Description

Somersets Farm is a 17th-century farmhouse, now a house, located in Wootton Rivers. It features a timber frame with brick noggings and a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of three bays. It has a lobby entry plan with an off-centre half-glazed door. The left bay is timber framed, with two panels high, corner braces, and a heavy bressumer, along with small panels below and one larger panel above. The ground floor has timber casement windows, while the three flush dormers feature 8-paned sash windows. A tall brick stack is centrally located, and the thatch sweeps over the dormers, with the ends half-hipped. At the rear, there is a long single-storey range, also thatched, with a gable stack.
