Description

LITTLE BEDWYN JOCKEY GREEN SU 26 SE 5/152 Kiln at Mirldown House 60m south of house II Tile Kiln, early C19. Brick, rectangular, approximately 4 m x 5 m with entrance to north-east and vent over. Structure has rounded corners with iron bands on upper stage reflecting interior shape. Interior rises to oval vent approximately 5 m high. Absence of firing tunnels suggests kiln was for clayware other than bricks, probably tiles.
