Description
No 8 St John's Square is a building that was formerly listed as St John's Hospital. It features 18th century rebuilding on the site and incorporates fragments of the medieval hospital. The structure is two storeys high, constructed with ashlar and flint chequerwork on the ground floor, and brick on the first floor, which is painted. It has a tiled roof.
On the first floor, there are two windows that are 19th century two-light glazing bar casements. The ground floor has two windows as well; the left window is a two-light design, while the right window is a tripartite sash. The entrance features a plain central ledged door with a lattice box porch. To the left of the building, there is a lean-to with a segmental headed door and a flue that communicates with No 5.
