Description

New Mill Bridge is a road bridge located on the Kennet & Avon Canal in Milton Lilbourne. It was built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The bridge follows John Rennie's standard design and is constructed from brick and stone. It features a single elliptical arch, a band, a solid parapet, and piers, all topped with stone coping. Additionally, there is a towpath retaining wall that also has stone coping. The Kennet & Avon Canal was constructed between 1794 and 1810, with John Rennie serving as the principal engineer.
