Description

A pair of cottages located in The Butts, Chippenham, dating from the late 18th century. The cottages are constructed from painted limestone rubble, with a stone slate roof punctuated by raking dormers and brick stacks to the gable ends. They have single-unit plans. Each cottage originally had a single-window front. Dormers feature 2-light casement windows with modern glazing. The first floor has 2-light stone-mullioned windows with cyma moulding, also with modern glazing. The ground floor has 2-light windows with timber lintels. Modern paired lean-to porches lead to modern doors. The interiors were not inspected.
