Description
Number 21 is a mid-19th century building that consists of two cottages now combined into one house. It features freestone architraves and a plinth, with a roughcast finish over limestone rubble at the front. The right side is constructed of English-bond brick, accented with freestone rusticated quoin. The building has a slate roof topped with a moulded ashlar stack on the right gable end.
The house is two storeys high and has a three-window range, including a flying freehold over the adjacent No. 20 to the left. There is a door located to the left of the center, with 19th-century two-light windows to the left. The 20th-century right wing is single-depth and built of stretcher-bond brick, featuring a door and window on the gable end.
The interior has not been inspected. The property also includes limestone rubble front garden walls and a 19th-century wooden gate. Historically, The Butts was a location where archery was practiced.
