Description

Milestone located 100 metres west of The Pelican Public House, dating from the late 18th century. It is made of painted sarsen stone and features a short shaft that is triangular in section with a cambered top, which is likely partly buried. The inscriptions on the milestone are incised but obscured and overpainted, with the left side reading "To HUNGERFORD 2 Miles" and the right side reading "To MARLBORO'".
