Description

No 48 on St Ann Street is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall. It is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a plain frieze, a moulded cornice, and an old tiled roof. On the right side, there is a two-storey angular cantilever bay window. The windows are framed with architraves, and the main cornice continues around the building. The first floor has two irregularly placed windows with flush panelled aprons. On the ground floor, there is a door located at the left corner and a shuttered window. The entrance features a six-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight that has obscured glass, both of which are set back from the main facade. This door is surrounded by a moulded architrave, a plain frieze with three rosettes, a small cornice, and a steep pediment. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 44 to 74 (even) and Nos 78 to 82 (even).
