Description
No. 28 on Saturday Market is a mid-18th century building that stands three storeys tall, constructed of brick with a plain tile roof. It features a wood ogee bracketed eaves cornice. On the second floor, there are two windows and a central blind panel, while the first floor has a triple window without glazing bars, adorned with brick voussoirs and keystones. The ground floor showcases a late 18th-century canted bay window, complete with original panelled shutters. A dentil cornice is present on the pent-house roof, which extends over the window and door, supported by two richly carved mid-18th century wood brackets. The door has been partly reglazed and includes a movable shutter. Inside, there is a late example of raised and fielded panelling.
