Description

The Conservative Club, located at 159 St Anne’s Street, comprises numbers 50 and 52. It dates from the mid to later 19th century. Number 50 houses a hall and features a gable facing the street, adorned with pierced, shaped bargeboards and a slate roof. A stilted arched, blocked window is set within the gable. The ground floor has two windows, and a central entrance with modern double doors. The windows are characterised by glazing bars and triangular arches. Number 52 is a three-storey building with painted brick and a slate roof. It also has a gable. The upper floors have two windows each, featuring triangular arches and sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has three irregularly spaced windows and a doorway, all with similar triangular arches. The building is constructed of painted brick. Numbers 44 to 74 (even) and numbers 78 to 82 (even) form a group.
