Description
This is an 18th-century house located on the south side of St Anne’s Street. It is constructed of brick, with two projecting brick piers that extend upwards to the top of the parapet. A small, moulded wooden cornice sits above the second-floor windows, between the piers. The brick parapet has a stone coping and incorporates two square windows and a central panel of vitreous brick on the second floor. Two shallow, two-storey bay windows are present, featuring segmental relieving arches above small cornice gutters and lead flats. The first-floor windows have moulded stone sills. The ground-floor windows in the bays are topped with a small moulded cornice and have folding shutters, each shutter consisting of two flush panels. The central window of the bays is three panes wide, while the side windows are single panes. A small vitreous brick panel is located between the bays at first-floor level. The central doorway features a six-panelled door with a plain surround, flanked by panelled pilasters and matching panelling in the door reveals. Elaborate, richly carved acanthus scroll brackets with an egg and tongue moulding support a flat moulded hood, which has an open, curved pediment in the centre. Inside, the staircase has an open string, moulded balusters, moulded newels, and a handrail.
The property forms a group alongside numbers 44 to 74 (even) and 78 to 82 (even).
