Description
No 117 on High Street is an 18th-century building that fronts part of an earlier timber-framed structure. It is constructed of red brick with grey brick bands and features an old tiled roof with a cornice moulding located halfway between the ridge and the parapet, which is carried around a central hipped dormer. The parapet has a projecting band below it. The building has two storeys and a flush band at the first floor. On the first floor, there are two double-hung sash windows with segmental arches. The ground floor on the right side features a four-flush panel door with a semi-circular fanlight set in a wooden panelled reveal, along with an archivolt that has impost bands and a raised keyblock, all surrounded by a pulvinated frieze and cornice. On the left side, there is a bow window supported by moulded wood brackets, which also has a frieze and a dentil cornice, complete with glazing bars.
