Description

This is an early 18th-century refronting of a 17th-century timber-framed building, located on the north side of Amersham High Street. The building is constructed of red and grey brick with red dressings, and has an old tile roof with a moulded wooden dentil cornice. It is two storeys high. On the ground floor, there are two double-hung sashes with flat arches and painted keyblocks. A central doorway features a six-panel door, with two upper panels of glass, set within wooden panelled reveals and surrounded by Roman Doric pilasters. These pilasters support carved consoles and a cornice hood with a panelled reveal. To the right is a carriageway with a painted bressummer. The first floor has three late 18th-century double-hung sashes in reveals with painted rendered arches.
