Description
Nos 76 and 78 on High Street are a building dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features a timber frame with painted cement rendered infill, an old tile roof, and a central brick stack. There is a gabled dormer above the carriageway on the left and a plain modern cornice. The building has two storeys and an attic.
No 76 has a half-glazed door with a hood on the left, two leaded casements on the ground floor, and a three-light headed casement on the first floor. No 78 has a modern door on the right, a three-light wood casement on the left, and a similar window on the first floor. The rear elevation includes a gabled dormer above the carriage arch and features a two-storey timber frame and brick wing for No 76, while No 78 has a tile-hung wing.
