Description
Hodingham House, also known as Whyte Posts, is a building located on Amersham High Street. It dates from the 17th century but was refaced in the 18th century. The exterior features colourwashed cement rendering and an old tile roof with a parapet above an entablature and a dentil cornice. There is a gable on the left side over a carriageway, which has a 3-light casement window above it. The building is two storeys high and has seven double-hung sash windows. The entrance door, located in the third bay from the right, has six fielded panels, two of which are now glass. It is framed by an eared architrave, a pulvinated frieze, and a dentil cornice. The rear wing of No 66 is timber framed and gabled, while No 68 features an early 19th-century hipped slate roof.
