Description
Ross Cottage and the adjacent property at No. 107 form a pair of houses situated on the north side of Amersham High Street. The visible brick facade dates to the late 18th century, although the underlying structure is timber-framed and of earlier origin. The houses are constructed of red and grey brick, with a prominent flush band at first floor level. The roof is tiled, featuring two box dormers and a wooden moulded cornice with modillion details.
The front of the houses has two doorways, each with a six-panelled door, a semi-circular radiating fanlight in the reveal, and a round-arched opening. Wide double-hung sash windows are located on either side of each doorway, each with a gauged brick flat arch and projecting cills. There are three similar sash windows on the first floor.
The rear elevation incorporates a two-storey and attic brick wing with a half-hipped tiled roof. This wing has three blank arched recesses on the second floor, and altered casement windows below.
